Privacy: what a concierge knows about your callers
Handling a call means processing what the caller said they wanted — data about the people who call you, not only about you. Understand a service's data practices before you buy.
United States
Ask what is collected, how long it is kept, whether calls are recorded, and who it is shared with. The privacy policy is the document that binds.
Canada
In Canada, IP address and similar identifiers are treated as personal information; a service should not use them to silently infer your market.
Callers did not choose this
Your callers did not sign up for the service. A trustworthy concierge discloses that it is automated in the greeting, not only on a website.
